Smart Viewer - Version 1.0

Introduction

Smart Viewer is a smart application for viewing bitmap images (*.bmp files). It is intended for those who need a quick and simple view of images. It has basic editing and different viewing functionalities. It is free from complications, while comparing with similar applications, in use.

It is a true 32-bit program, implemeted with efficient memory-utilization. As such, it will only run on 32-bit operating systems such as Win95,win98,winME and Windows NT.It will NOT work on Windows 3.x, even with Win32s extensions.

It supports different bits/pixel combination of almost all bitmap image files. Editing features include: Cut, copy & paste Mirror (flipping), Negation, Rotation, Stretching, Colorization, and Patternization.

Features

File Open Saving and Closing :

You can Open any bitmap files and modify (with the facilities available), and save the picture in the same bitmap format.

Editing :

Smart Viewer provides efficient editing features such as copying or cutting a selected part and paste it according to his\her wish. To Edit a picture, you should:

Use " Edit- cut / Edit->copy / Edit->paste / Edit->Selection " options from menu, or use appropriate toolbuttons or shortcut keys.

Rotating Pictures :

Smart Viewer provides lossless BMP rotation. This allows you to correct the orientation of a picture without losing any picture informationl . You can rotate a picture numerous times and never lose any of the content of the picture. To rotate a picture, you try;

"Image->Rotate Right" or "Image->Rotate Left" main menu option, or use the ALT-R (rotate right) or ALT-L (rotate left) shortcuts.

And see the the rotated image. Wow !.

Flipping Pictures

Smart Viewer provides lossless BMP flipping. This allows you to correct the orientation of a picture without losing any image detail. You can flip a picture numerous times and never lose any of the content of the picture. To flip a picture, you should,

Use the "Image->Flip main menu option, or use Ctrl+F shortcut key to flip the picture 180 degree.

Next/Previous image viewing

Using the Next and Previous options in the menu or toolbar the user can traverse and view all the bitmap files in a particular directory. This is a sample implemetation of SlideShow functionality, but it requires user stimulus.

Zooming :

Smart Viewer provides FOUR types of Zooming Operations.User can stretch an image to the screen boundaries, a picture can be enlarged or contracted in a step by step fashion (Zoom More) upto a particular size level. After any Colouring or zooming operation, the user can retain the original image; using the Actual Size option in the menu or toolbar.

Color and Pattern mixing

Smart Viewer presents a functionality of Negating any bitmap image. The user can mix some standard colors to the image for better photographic enhancement effects. Pattern mixing is another feature that allows the user to mix some interesting patterns such as Cross Pattern, Dioganal pattern etc.

Background Color :

User can change the application background color, by a Background color setting tool available in Smart Viewer.

File information :

Using the File Information, given in the menu or toolbar , the user can view the information about the current image, such as size, width etc.

Keyboard Shortcuts :

Most of the above mentioned operations can be performed by using our rich and standard keyboard shortcuts. For shortcuts manual, press Shift+K or select it from the menu.
